Payless ShoeSource Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has expanded their recall on toddler clog shoes. The recall includes around 270,000 of the shoes; when the product was recalled in early May, 690,000 clogs were recalled.

In May the recall only included Airwalk Compel clog shoes, but now the recall includes character-themed clog styles such as Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, Hello Kitty, Coasters Lighted Car Compel, and Cambridge Mary-Jane. The sizes included in the recall are from toddler size 5 to toddler size 10.

The clogs have been recalled because the plastic rivets used to attach the strap to the shoe can detach, which can pose a choking hazard to toddlers. The shoes were available at Payless ShoeSource stores all over the country from January 2006 to June 2007. The clogs were manufactured in China.
